(Colombo Lankapuvath) A conference will be held today at the Madrasathul Hameediah, Colombo Grand Mosque immediately after Salath-ul Maghrib in order to determine the date of commencement of the Islamic month of Shawwal Hijri 1431, which will be done upon the sighting of the new moon in any part of Sri Lanka.

The Colombo Grand Mosque asked Muslims in Sri Lanka to be on the lookout for the sighting of the new moon and to call and inform 011-52340442, 432110, 2390783 or 0777 366099 in the event of its sighting.
