(Colombo, Lankapuvath March 12) – Minister of Posts and Telecommunication Nandana Gunathilaka said that the government of President Mahinda Rajapaksha will leave no room for any foreign countries to interfere in the internal affairs of Sri Lanka or to compromise by letter or deed the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country. He further informed that President Mahinda Rajapaksha is ready to provide the correct answers to any foreign empowerment.
He claimed that certain foreign sources were sustaining the terrorists by using various reasons to intervene in internal affairs thus attempting to destroy the sovereignty of the county.
The minister stated that observations made on discussions held by the Global Tamil Forum with the British Government clearly indicated that their intensions are directed to winning an Eelam State. He stated this while participating in a rally held in Matugama recently.
The minister further said that though terrorism was eradicated from within the country, internationally it is still active. There are many beliefs spreading while a free and independent country is built to meet the world.
He also mentioned that a Peoples Democratic Political system is operative within the country while the government has made preparations to provide necessary facilities to the Sinhalese and Tamils equally.
Minister Nandana Gunatilake pointed out that as a genuine people’s leader the president has identified the needs of the entire population therefore it is not necessary for international organizations favoring terrorism to bring awareness on such issues to President Mahinda Rajapaksha.
