(Colombo Lankapuvath) Over 2762 persons were nabbed for travelling without tickets in buses belonging to the Sri Lanka Transportation Board (SLTB), Deputy Minister of Transport Rohana Dissanayake said.
These persons were arrested within six month while a sum of Rs 944775 was charged from them as fines.
Most number of commuters travelling without tickets were amounting to 520 were arrested during the month of February while the revenue gathered as fines were Rs 1,87,413, the Deputy Minister added.
