(Colombo Lankapuvath) Details of all the devala processions held island wide will be gather in order to preserve the traditions of the processions.
Parties concerned in the matter, such as Basnayake Nilames, Chief Prelates and others interested will be involved in this National Task and the collected data will be handed over to the Ministry of Buddhist Affairs.
The request to preserve details and traditions of these processions were made to President Mahinda Rajapaksa by Diyawadana Nilame Nilanga Dela recently.
He emphasised that the future generations of the country should be fully aware of these details.
