(Colombo Lankapuvath) A complete geological survey on the construction of the ancient Galle Fort is now underway and is conducted by the Hapugala Engineering Faculty of the Ruhunu University.
However, the area is at a risk of sinking due to several cracks in the wall while Rs 2,000,000 is allocated for the reconstruction process of the Galle fort. The program is launched with the intention of preserving the ancient culture of the area.
This is the first occasion that a geological investigation or survey is conducted in the area.
