(Colombo-lankapuvath) All Members of Parliament joined the traditional dinner after the conclusion of the Budget 2013 last Saturday (8) at the Speaker's official residence. President Mahinda Rajapaksa was also a special guest at that dinner.Here, the Head of State is seen engaged in a  cordial discussion with UNP MPs John Amaratunge,Dayasiri Jayasekere and a few others during the dinner meeting.

(Colombo Lankapuvath) President Mahinda Rajapaksa was present at the first death anniversary pinkama of late Gen.Anuruddha Ratwatte in Kandy yesterday(2). The theme was -'Reflections  from British rule to the present through a trilingual culture to a developing unitary state-'.The lecture was delivered Dr.Amal Gunasena.Those present were First Lady,Shiranthi Rajapaksa,Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa,Minister Basil Rajapaksa,Defense Secretary,Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, family members, relatives,ministers and parliamentarians.

 

(Colombo Lankapuvath)Sri Lanka's first satellite,'Supreme Sat Wan' entered the orbit yesterday at 3.43pm(local time) from China's Xi Chang Satellite Station assisted by a Chinese made rocket.Hence, Sri Lanka becomes the 45th nation to enter satellite age and it cost US dollars 320 million.
